Executive Summary


For decades, email has served as the backbone of business communications. It was never engineered, however, to function as a trusted system of record for transmitting sensitive business documents, regulated communications, executive correspondence, or legally significant records. Traditional fax - despite remaining a regulatory fixture in healthcare, legal, insurance, and government - inherits the same underlying weakness: it relies on public telephone infrastructure that was never designed with modern security or auditability in mind. Alexia Fax Enterprise was built to solve this differently, not by improving email or modernizing the public fax network, but by replacing the transmission layer itself. The Problem With Open Infrastructure

Every legacy communications channel businesses rely on today - email, PSTN fax, SMS - shares one structural weakness: it is an open system. Messages traverse networks, carriers, and servers that the sending organization does not own, does not control, and often cannot fully audit. This creates recurring exposure:

Alexia Fax Enterprise unifies secure document delivery, internal Email-to-Fax transmission, and encrypted enterprise messaging into a single closed-network platform.


What “Closed Network” Means in Practice

  • Every sender and recipient is issued an Alexia-assigned internal number - not a PSTN fax number, and not interoperable with one.
  • Transmission occurs exclusively between authenticated participants on the Alexia network. A message cannot reach, and cannot be reached from, an external fax machine, an outside email inbox, or any number outside Alexia’s own numbering system.
  • Because the network has no PSTN interconnect, it is not exposed to the interception risks, spoofing, and open-carrier vulnerabilities inherent to traditional fax and email.
  • Onboarding a new counterparty - a client, partner, affiliated provider, or vendor - means bringing them onto the Alexia network, not sending to an address that already exists in the outside world.

This is fundamentally different from “cloud fax” or “internet fax” providers, which typically operate as a bridge to the existing public fax network. Alexia Fax has no such bridge. It is a self-contained system, built by Alexia Network LLC, for organizations that need to communicate securely within their own extended network of counterparties - not for reaching arbitrary outside fax numbers.

Secure Document Delivery

Alexia’s Secure Delivery tier manages the complete lifecycle of a document, not just its transmission:

Email-to-Fax, Reimagined as a Closed System


Traditional Email-to-Fax services act as a translation layer into the public fax network: a message enters as email and exits as a real PSTN fax transmission to any external number. Alexia’s Email-to-Fax works differently, by design. A sender transmits from their email client, but the message routes entirely within Alexia’s internal network to another Alexia-issued number - never out to the public fax system. This trades the “reach anyone with a fax machine” model for a “closed, verifiable, internal-only” model: every recipient has been onboarded, authenticated, and issued a number by Alexia itself. For organizations evaluating this tier, that distinction matters operationally: Alexia Email-to-Fax is built for structured, ongoing communication with a known set of counterparties - internal departments, affiliated providers, established clients, or partner organizations - rather than as a general-purpose replacement for sending a one-off fax to an outside party’s existing fax line.
